The Enquiry
The client approached us for a new entry solution at Surrey Quays, London that would eliminate the need for front door keys in all 11 apartment houses. This would allow tenants to access the gates, communal areas and their block using the same proximity fob, whilst remaining fully integrated with the Comelit Audio Intercom system.
11 standalone Paxton Switch2 systems with vandal proof proximity readers and battery backups were supplied and installed for the apartment houses. These were integrated with the existing Comelit intercom systems. 300 new fobs were supplied and programmed, and 100 existing fobs were refurbished to be kept as spares.
Shadow cards were provided for each new fob and labelled with numbers of the flats. This helps the building management team to quickly delete the right fob from the system and supply new one.
Each standalone system was released at the same time as the entrance door being replaced. Our combined work with the security doors provider – Seciro Ltd allowed us to eliminate all risks of free access to the premises.
Prior to the project delivery 11 entrances into apartment houses were controlled by Audio Intercom Systems and Keys for the Latch locks. Because development is surrounded by the fence with 2 sliding gates for vehicles and 4 pedestrian gates, pedestrian gates were controlled by standalone access control systems and fobs. Those systems enabled tenants to access the development area using their proximity fob and access the apartment house using a key as well as having the ability to open the door from their premises using their handsets.

The client also received 300 Proximity Fobs that can be used to access Area and Block entrances.
